St. Aidan's vs. St. David's
Parnell Park was the venue for this mouth-watering derby. Although the morning was quite blustery, the winds died down, and with the pitch in good condition after the 'underdogs' match the previous weekend, all were looking forward to the clash.
St. David's got off to a good start with points from David O'Connor and Seán Finnean. St. Aidan's replied immediately with a point from Joseph Boland. This was followed by goals from Player14 and Ted Furman. David's did not lie down and used all their physical strength to quell the Aidan's rout.
An early goal after the break brought David's within three points of Aidan's and it looked as if the Artane men were going to take control. However, Aidan's rose to the challenge, replying with some excellent scores from Thomas Brady and Player10. These scores were followed by goals from Paul MacReamoin and Ted Furman. The David's men did not lie down for the last ten minutes, but the crucial goals put the game out of reach.
This was an exciting end to the Dublin Championships. St. Aidan's will play the winners of the South Leinster Championship as they bid to bring the Leinster title to the capital.
Final score: St. Aidan's 4-11 St. David's 1-8
