Dublin claimed its second U21 Leinster Hurling title in four years, with former Aidan's pupil Martin Quilty playing a starring role at centre-back. Dublin struggled early on with Wexford developing a four point lead, however they were to recover to within a point by half-time.
Quilty showed his metal in the half-back line as Dublin got to grips with a determined Wexford side early in the second half. However Dublin failed to convert its superiority into points on the scoreboard and it took a goal 10 minutes from time to put them into the lead for the first time. That was a lead they were not to surrender as they followed up with a second to clinch the final a minute from time.
With performances like this, it can't be long before Martin follows in the footsteps of two Aidan's stars in Tomás Brady and Joey Boland to join the Dublin senior squad.
