The year kicked off with the Annual FirstYear Race and the promising John Connell lifted the Seán O' Connell Cup, followed by Gareth Byrne and Aaron Elliot. At the 'Brother by your Side'/Clonliffe Harriers Invitational, the boys swept the boards and collected the overall Best School Award. They were presented with a state of the art printer for their efforts. At the All-Ireland C.B.S., all our teams got into the medals with some fine performances from Eric Thomas, Conor King, Liam Ashton, Aaron Dequina, Jordan Logue, Ian Guidan and Cathal Doran. This event was followed by the St.

Paul's/Raheny Shamrocks Invitational and this was another day to remember for the squad with the under 14's, under 15's and under 17's collecting gold medals. To wrap up an incredible year we have organised an All-Aidan's Christmas race and the squad just can't wait to bounce out of the blocks in 2010! Many thanks to John Shields in the Athletic Association of Ireland and the Student Council for supporting the Christmas Race.

Following the success of last years u16 team, St Aidans basketball teams have all been promoted to the A division. Once again the senior players have become involved in mentoring of the junior players (a gesture that is greatly appreciated by all the coaching staff) and training is well under way at all levels. The u16 squad captained by Michael Murray, coached by D.O Beirne and P.Ashton has already reached the semi final stage of the competition. As we go to print the senior squad are competing in the quarter final versus St Benildus college, stillorgan.
