FIFTH YEAR STUDENTS PAINT A MASTERPIECE!
Congratulations to the three 5th year art students who did such a terrific job on the mural
they painted on the climbing wall for the 18th Dublin (Santry) Scout Group Den. Mr. Wood,
the scout leader was so impressed by the work of Gavin Redmond, Mark McDonald and Aaron
Kennedy that he presented them with a special scout certificate and a gift voucher.
Well-done lads!

You're hired...
The applicants for the school's video interviews looked just like those who had walked off
the set of the TV series, The Apprentice.
Dressed immaculately and thoroughly prepared for interviews, ranging from plumber to
psychologist, all candidates performed extraordinarily well. If Sir Alan Sugar was in the chair
he would have said... ...you're hired.
Photo shows the interviews putting the applicant through his paces during the recent
video interviews.

Aidan's students storm Young Scientist competition.
Congratulations to T.Y. students Daniel Blanchfield, Craig O'Hare and Aaron Hayes for their
wonderful achievement in gaining 2nd place in the 'Intermediate Technology' group section in
this years Young Scientist competition. Their project, 'Using Plasmonic Enhancement to Increase
Hepatitis C Sensor Sensitivity' was one of 500 projects selected from a record 1,278 entries to
be exhibited at this year's competition in the R.D.S. Also representing St. Aidan's in the
final were Ciaran Tuohy, Sean Gibson and Andrew Salter with their project, Taking Hepatitis C
Detection in a New Direction1.
Ms. Peoples and Ms. McCormack can be justifiably proud after a great showing from both St.
Aidan's teams. This is another fine success for Mr. Noel Duffy and the Transition Year program.
