Exam Students
With ten weeks to go, you are already in the final stages of preparation for the state
exams. Leaving Cert. students have just finished their oral exams and apart from putting
the finishing touches to projects, it's heads down now for the big day in June. No matter
what problems you had during the year or how you performed in the mock exams, you still
have a lot to play for in the coming weeks. Your best efforts must come in the finishing
straight. Concentrate on revision at this stage - to the exclusion of everything else,
especially part-time jobs. Familiarise yourself with the past papers, the layout, time
allowed and the type and frequency of particular questions. Don't loose heart - the extra
work you do will give you higher grades and open up opportunities for you. Good luck to
all of you.

On Sunday, 25th April, the Parents Council are holding a Car Boot Sale in the school grounds.
We would appreciate your support in this. Any items for the school stall or for a raffle prize
would be welcome. You might come across a few in the course of your spring cleaning. Individual
items may be left in the school office on Thursday 22nd or Friday 23rd or April.
Alternatively, if you have a lot of items for sale, come along on the day with a car or a table and set
up your own stall.
St. Aidan's Parents Council meets at 7.45p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. All parents are
welcome to come along.

Journalist of the Year Competition
Four years ago The Sunday Tribune and Griffith College established a national journalism competition.
Each year they offered senior cycle students the opportunity to write an essay on the theme of "The Information
Age". First prize was €500.
In 2003, several students on the editorial committee of the school magazine "Outside Opinion" took part
in the competition. Karl Fox and Kevin Sheehy won first and second place respectively. They each received
certification from Griffith College's Journalism Department.
Kevin is currently studying journalism in DCU and Karl is studying Politics and Philosophy in Trinity. Both
would like to express their thanks to Ms. Dunne for all her encouragment and inspiration.
