Miss Walsh's Religion class 5 East made a visit recently to Mountjoy Prison to get a better idea of Prison life and conditions. In a tour that was not for the faint hearted, students were brought around parts of the jail, saw inside a cell and were given a very clear idea of life behind bars by an prison guard. This sobering experience was reinforced by a visit to the grisly appartus used by generations of hangmen to execute prisoners in the past. Many thanks to Miss Walsh for organising such a thought provoking experience from all involved.
