Immersion is a Christian Brother initiative that secondary schools participate in. It creates links between Irish school communities and communities in developing countries. In October 2009 ten students hope to go to the Sinon Community in Arusha, Tanzania. Students plan to go with an open mind and to learn from their time spent in Tanzania. The ten days will be spent in a High school and spending time doing outreach work in an orphanage and a remand centre plus other activities.
The Immersion experience has already begun for St Aidan’s in the efforts spent fundraising. The support from the wider community has been very encouraging and we look forward with enthusiasm to the activities that lie ahead.
