The school was ably represented on Friday January 19th by a trio of Transition Years students partaking in a Public Speaking Contest in Dublin Castle. Craig O’Hare, Andrew Salter and Karl Elliott had reached the constituency final after trouncing rivals in previous heats. Their speeches, which concerned EU policies on Enlargement, Environment, Immigration and Energy, were specially commended by Chief Adjudicator Eileen Dunne of RTE News. However despite their cogent and articulate arguments, they missed the winning post by a whisker. Also attending the Forum were Dublin MEPs Proinsias de Rossa, Gay Mitchell and Mary Lou McDonald.
