SUCCESS FOR SENIOR DEBATING TEAM
Thus far, it has been a great year for the St. Aidan's Senior Debating Team. Throughout the year,
three teams have been participating in the Denny Leinster Schools Debating Championship and - to
date - have had great success. 190 teams were in the Championship at the beginning and now, at
the vitally important quarter-finals stage, only 20 remain - including our St. Aidan's "A" team
featuring Shane Reilly and Noel Rock. The speakers have had to overcome fierce opposition to get
to this stage, however, they have done so through a mix of solid teamwork and passionate speaking.
Their feat is made all the more impressive due to the relative infancy of our debating teams - in
the last round, they were competing against students who had trained in debating for six years and
upwards.
