Green Flag

St. Aidan's: Green Flag School

St. Aidan's were awarded a renewed Green Flag for litter and waste management on the 30th of January 2008. This came about as a result of our continued efforts to reduce litter in the yard and to ensure that more of our waste is being recycled. It is an ongoing project which will see the flag being renewed every two years. We are now working towards reducing our energy needs and we are looking at implementing some ways of reducing our water usage. This flag not only means a cleaner environment but it also means St. Aidan's does not have to pay bin charges for the next two years.

Since September the transition year recycling teams have been diligent and conscientious in maintaining the recycling bins around the school while the committee members have been making notices for classrooms, informing pupils about the work of the green schools and beginning a review of our energy usage in the school.

Thank you to all involved for the support and co-operation.
