First Day

In September 1995 students returned to St Aidans to find themselves in a building which had been completed while they were on summer holidays. The new building which was started over a year before was hidden behind high hoarding. This hoarding was removed and the new building could be seen in all its glory.

Over six hundred students turned up for school, among them one hundred and twenty new students starting first year.

Many students travel to school by bicycle. Others arrive on foot.

Students check out the various entrances to find which one is open.

Go on, you go first!

The Principal, Br Cashel, hurries students along to ensure they are not late.

With all those hands on the door handle you would think someone could open the door.

And then the long search along the corridor to find the classroom.

Classroom found at least it is time to do some work.

With the students safely in their classrooms the Principal relaxes in his office.
